Hi, I’m Lee from cookeatworld.com
I was born in a small town in England in 1973. I grew up like many children of that time, not eating too adventurously – until I left home, some time in the early 90s. It was then that world opened up, along with all its food. It’s where my passion for cooking took seed.
Around the world, we show love, hospitality and friendship through food. It’s one of the first things I’m offered to welcome me to someone’s home or country. Humans love to make others feel welcome and nothing does it to greater effect than offering up a plate of tasty local food.
Over the years I’ve lived and travelled around the world, sampling tasty favourites and learning more and more about food and cooking. From hyper-regional, Italian favourites, to mind blowing fish curries from South India. I’ve driven through dried up river beds in Mexico, just for breakfast and perfected my favourite Lebanese mezze when I didn’t always have access to it.

Today, I cook food and develop recipes inspired by everywhere I eat. It might be my favourite ‘mom & pop’ restaurant, a dish I grew up eating or a new treasure I find in a book, magazine or online. Learning how people eat around the world is my passion. This is the place you’ll discover my tried and tested recipes from Italy, India, all across Asia, The Mediterranean and beyond.
Over the years, I’ve discovered so many amazing dishes to create at home and picked up many helpful tips and tricks from friendly mums, dads, cooks and chefs. This collective knowledge has found its way onto every recipe on the site, and hopefully there’s something for everyone.

My husband has come home from hunting east of Adelaide with 4 wild ducks which we know from experience are NOT tender or fatty.

Always nice to get some positive feedback! I love south east Asian food and plan on many more recipes soon… The recipes of late have focussed quite heavily on Indian (which is no bad thing) but at the expense of other Asian cuisines – Singaporean/Malaysian are my favourites so this is where I’ll be focussing!

The Burmese Chicken curry is my absolute favourite, try the Lahore Chicken curry too. Don’t forget the Lamb Madras and the Bhuna both of which were the first two I made. Recent faves are the chicken Phal and Mughali Chicken, and all the Sri Lankan fish curries. I could literally go on and on till I list ALL my curries!

Sorry you’re not loving the new look. I moved the blog to my own server a couple of weeks ago and wanted a new look. I am still getting used to it and am still not 100% sold on it myself.
I may try another new look and feel at some point as your comment isn’t the first I’ve had.
I think I may have made the site just a little too “professional” and it may have lost some of its charm.

I’m so sorry. I absolutely loved the original site for your wonderful recipe collection and raved about it with many friends.
Why isn’t this new version working for me? I miss the links to main food catagories, the layout seemed friendlier (it’s more ‘newspapery’ now), and the food photos are just not making me want to stop and read on. It’s just not the same. I don’t know what to do now when I arrive at your site. I used to look so forward visiting, in anticipation of some wonderful delightful inspiration and ideas awaiting me and now I’m just stumped.
I’m not a good one for change I guess. I’ll keep trying but I wanted to let you know your old site was much loved by someone.
